I’m behind on taking pictures of our Christmas decorations, but I am 99% done with gifts and 50% done with wrapping. I’ll call that a success! Last night we hosted our 3rd annual white elephant gift exchange. 25 of us crammed into our den and enjoyed some funny gifts, great food (pats self on the back), and festive cheer. Each year the group is a little different, but it is always a great time and reconnects many of our Hawaii wedding guests. Best gift was by-far the reindeer banana hammock! I bet it returns next year…
Dear, 8-pound, 6-ounce, newborn infant Jesus, don’t even know a word yet, just a little infant and so cuddly, but still omnipotent, we just thank you
So here’s to you and yours as you prepare to celebrate the birth of our Savior!
Back in March, I was one of the hostesses for my dear friend’s bridal shower at The Junior League of Houston. The four of us set up a brunch at The League to honor Laura; who doesn’t love an excuse for mimosas! You may remember last year we threw the to-be-weds an engagement party.
Laura’s bachelorette party was the same night so we kept things simple! In the Fall, I found a large set of blue and white teacups that Kendra uses at the ranch. We followed our blue and white theme throughout, including the invitations and decor. This Spring chartreuse and navy was everywhere! We took the traditional blue and white and added pops of chartreuse to make it fun. I was walking through H&M several weeks before the shower and they had an entire collection in that color palette. Who knew we were so stylish! Continue Reading →
Over the weekend, I hosted a Baby Sprinkle with dear friends Ali and Sarita for our friend/sister-in-law Alex. Alex is expecting baby #4 in a little over a month! Surrounded by close family and friends, Alex opened up lots of snugglers, diapers, wipes, winter wear, and moccasins for baby Caroline. She will be their first “Fall” baby as all of her siblings were born in March or May.
We had a light spread of chicken salad sandwiches on apple slices and croissants, fruit salad , my mom’s famous bean-corn dip (I should share this one soon!), and “sprinkle” cookies using this recipe from Deliciously Sprinkled. For decor and invitations, we used lots of PINK for baby Charlotte! The invitations were a classic lace cutout with soft pink ink and we carried the soft feel through with a watercolor print banner, signs, and flowers at the shower. I’ll let you in on a little secret! I used a free watercolor from Willowmark Works that Design*Sponge featured last month) Continue Reading →
A year ago today, Chris and I were surrounded by 60 friends and family members on the Island of Maui to celebrate as we jumped into married life. We spent four solid days enjoying time with our guests and I loved every minute of it! I told myself I needed to get it together after I got overwhelmed when we receiving our wedding photos (I mentioned that here) so our first anniversary was great motivation to get it done. Last week I posted about the destination travel map I made for Chris for our anniversary.
I created our wedding album, filled with our favorite pictures captured by Dmitri & Sandra, on Shutterfly. It was a bit of a process to narrow down over 1,000 photos and arrange them in the album, but I love how it turned out! To see our virtual album, select the cover picture below. Continue Reading →
