Four weeks ago this weekend, just hours after hosting friends over for what would be the last party in our “pre-Harvey” house, flood waters came into Lady Linton and forever changed us. I haven’t had the words to write about what happened. It’s impossible to explain unless you’ve gone through it. My safe place, my pride and joy, my first house will never be the same. We are grateful for our safety and that the water did not come up too high as we were able to salvage some of our possessions.
This past weekend, I had the joy of hosting a shower along with three other dear friends to celebrate Kendra’s upcoming nuptials later this summer. We had a great afternoon filled with laughter, stories, and even a few words of wisdom from our moms. Laura came up with the idea of hosting a wine tasting bridal shower. Everything took off from there! We complimented the black chalkboards with pops of mint, gold, and white and beautiful florals.
The soft, handmade envelope liners were and easy and fun DIY to compliment our invitation design. I don’t know why I hadn’t done them before. It really takes the set to the next level without a big cost. The paper was only $6 and enough to make 8 liners. To add a personal touch, we printed a few of Kendra’s engagement pictures and used them throughout the decor. See these and more below! Continue Reading →
I’m behind on taking pictures of our Christmas decorations, but I am 99% done with gifts and 50% done with wrapping. I’ll call that a success! Last night we hosted our 3rd annual white elephant gift exchange. 25 of us crammed into our den and enjoyed some funny gifts, great food (pats self on the back), and festive cheer. Each year the group is a little different, but it is always a great time and reconnects many of our Hawaii wedding guests. Best gift was by-far the reindeer banana hammock! I bet it returns next year…
Dear, 8-pound, 6-ounce, newborn infant Jesus, don’t even know a word yet, just a little infant and so cuddly, but still omnipotent, we just thank you
So here’s to you and yours as you prepare to celebrate the birth of our Savior!
Back in March, I was one of the hostesses for my dear friend’s bridal shower at The Junior League of Houston. The four of us set up a brunch at The League to honor Laura; who doesn’t love an excuse for mimosas! You may remember last year we threw the to-be-weds an engagement party.
Laura’s bachelorette party was the same night so we kept things simple! In the Fall, I found a large set of blue and white teacups that Kendra uses at the ranch. We followed our blue and white theme throughout, including the invitations and decor. This Spring chartreuse and navy was everywhere! We took the traditional blue and white and added pops of chartreuse to make it fun. I was walking through H&M several weeks before the shower and they had an entire collection in that color palette. Who knew we were so stylish! Continue Reading →
